While tying the Trojans 2-2, the Bernice MacNaughton Highlanders snatched first place, a win in the eyes of the team. The Highlanders, with 7 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties, are doing much better than their previous 3-10 season.

Maclean Murphy, one of the goal scorers of the game, is proud of the team, saying “We’ve earned the right to be here, now it’s time to dig in. It’s the last run for a lot of us.”

“I’m proud of how we played out there, we left it all out there on the turf. Being in first place is just the cherry on top,” leading scorer Matt Gallant added.

The Highlanders are to participate in the league’s playoffs this coming weekend.
